Report of #Singapore Blockchain Week 2022

From 26th/August/2022 to 28th/August/2022, I had the opportunity to join Singapore Blockchain Week 2022 which organized by the Blockchain Association of Singapore, is Singapore's premier Blockchain event. The week-long event is where leading organizations and top minds in the Blockchain industry gather, discuss and present the next key developments in the digital evolution.

Floor map of this event was like this. There were some stages, rooms for workshops, booth area and so on

The 2-day event held at Hall A, Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 26 to 27 July, 2022 brought together more than 9,000 delegates and visitors comprising industry leaders, academics and innovators, and governments from both regional and international levels. Topics vary from ASEAN Blockchain Forum, Web3 and the Metaverse, Blockchain & Digital Assets, Regulation, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Enterprise Blockchain, Non-Fungible Token (NFT) and Game Finance (GameFi), and Women in Blockchain.

1. The Organizers

Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS) is a membership association that represents Singapore's global blockchain community. In recent years, BAS has actively engaged various stakeholders and conducted education programs. BAS' membership base has been expanding, with hundreds of members currently ranging from start-ups and SMEs, to global FinTech and Blockchain institutions and financial service firms.

BAS has also established international partnerships, forming ASEAN Blockchain Consortium with the following members:

  • Asosiasi Blockchain Indonesia
  • Blockchain Australia
  • Distributed Ledger Technology Association of the Philippines
  • Thailand Digital Asset Operators Trade Association
  • Malaysia's Labuan International Business and Financial Center

Building on Singapore's existing strength in financial services and international relationships, BAS aims to build a strong blockchain ecosystem and establish role as a digital trust hub.

2. The Sponsors

During the event, I recognized some great Sponsors which have the big contribution to the events. They are the big blockchain companies such as: ATLAS, GEMS, Fireblocks, HyperBC...Let us take a look what are they and what they are doing with blockchain technology.

2.1 Atlas

In the background of the panel, you could see the main key sponsor "Powered by Atlas" which is the emeritus sponsor of this event.

Headquartered in Singapore, Atlas is a global blockchain in infrastructure-as-a-service group that drives the evolution of Web 3- the next phase of the internet. The company offers a broad rage of value-added services including distributed high-performance computing, node infrastructure, networking, hardware, API support and storage for the Web 3 ecosystem.

Raymond Yuan, Founder and Chairman of CTH and Atlas Technology as the Opening Keynote Speaker. He will be addressing the topic of "Globalization and Web3 Adoption. Partner of Asia, Phillip Liu, Chief Investment Officer Markus Markus Thielen and Managing Director Hao Wang also shared our prospective on contributing to a sustainable development of web3.

2.2 GEMS

GEMS is an Esport 3.0 aggregator platform within and O2O ecosystem. It propels Esports into 3.0 by integrating Gamefi, Metaverse and Social elements, and leverages on its founding partners' chain of Esports hotels.

The CEO of GEMS was sharing about his opinion of blockchain and web3 trends. They are the unstoppable trends. If you participate early, you will reap the benefits and rewards of this emerging trend. If his explanation of Web3 makes sense, and everyone believes in this trend, even if you don't participate, the trend will still happen. And if more people participate, it will accelerate the arrival of Web3, similar to the self-fulfilling prophecy in markets.

2.3 Fireblocks

I got the good impression with the business model of Fireblocks. They are running the all-in-one platform to build, run, and scale the digital asset business using Fireblocks' next generation sercurity.

Fireblocks’ solution combines both multi-party computation-based cryptography with chip-level isolation technology. Michael Shaulov, Fireblocks’ CEO, pointed out that combining the two methods removes the single point of failure from the key-management process and enables hardware-based authentication of counterparties’ transactions.

3. Other sponsors and participants

The main halls contain many startup and blockchain companies' booth with so great ideas and products.

I took the photo with a team which called Tiny Trader. This team provides the full options to build a market place with good offer unit price and flexible packages. Their head office in Dubai. I am so surprise that so so many companies where located in Dubai recently.
Some activities in the exhibition:

Scuti in the event. We are very new with blockchain technology but we always want to challenge with the newest trend of IT industry.
