Slogan: Make Services People Need

Slogan: Make services people need

Hi, I'm Kakeya, CEO and founder of Scuti.

On 2/Jan/2019, we held the kickoff meeting of the 5th period of Scuti. In this meeting, I announced the next slogan. It was "Make Services People Need". Yes, it's inspired by the slogan of Y Combinator. Why did we choose this? I'd like to explain in this blog.

The meaning of this slogan

The original phrase "Make something people want" by Y Combinator should mean startups should determine the customer and the pain, and their service should be the solution of the pain of the customer instead of self-satisfaction.

Of course, we also include this point.

However, our company has the outsourcing business so we added a little more meanings. That's why we changed the phrase a little.

In outsourcing projects, we always think of USERs’ problems and resolve them with the application we develop. Our goal is not following the requirement provided by customers.

What we have to behave

It's just the labors of the software development factory if we just focus on following the requirement from customers. Our slogan is the declaration that we don't work like this and we work for users of the application we develop.

If we think the requirement from customers are not optimum for users, we will suggest the better user experience and discuss with customers.

The completion condition of each ticket and project is whether or not we provide the value to users or not.

What we want customers to understand

Most of Vietnamese "offshore" development company may have the development style that customers need to provide the requirement and detailed design that cover all. And developers just implement the code following them.

We're different from the other "offshore" companies. We're also a startup so we focus on providing the values to users like this slogan. Actually, over 50% of our past projects were starting the new services and businesses together with the customers.
*Please do not misunderstand I don't deny the offshore development. It's one of the good and important business. I'm just telling we're different from it.

If we think we can find better solutions than your requirement, we'd like to discuss with you on a project. This is totally for users. In order to provide as better user experience as possible, we eager to discuss with you. This is our basic policy and that's why we chose this slogan.
